This is a post on what I had during my stay trip Queenstown. You can find 10 Places to eat in Queenstown in this post.
Check out my itinerary if you haven't, and some other foods to share as well. The town is really small so you won't get lost by searching the shop it is very easy to locate. The restaurants and bars are all gathered together
1. Fregburger
Well first of all I think every one who touch down in Queenstown on their first day they will have Fergburger as their first meal! Because is the first thing that come in mind! (
or izzit only me?) Fergburger also know as the best burger in the world!!! Some how, I think is kinda overrated. Although I ate it twice LOL!
The crowd is there and we waited 15min for our burgers. Some claim it took 30-45min to get their burger we were lucky because it was not peak time!
Is really huge!! Let's have a close up picture.
Mine Chief Wiggum which is pork belly and the original The Fregburger which consist of beef with blue cheese.
Chief Wiggum is really for pork belly freak! I cant even finish it. I also tried their "Little Lamby" (on the other day) and I prefer it over the Chief Wiggum, not a pork belly fan after all.
2. Fergbaker
They serve really good pie and all the pies are priced around $4- $6.50. I tried 3 of their pies; Chicken Bacon Mushroom, Vension& Portabello Mushroom and not forgetting le bf favourite pork belly pie. I must say I like their pies more than their burger. Opps no picture did not take it and there is no dine it too; we ate it immediately on our way home. It just located beside Fregbaker.
3. Flame Bar & Grill
I love this so much places! Is warm and cosy and the food is really nice do go there early because this place is full of people during dinner time.
My entrée; Green lipped NZ Mussels at $17.5 and Chicken Wing at $14. The chicken wing claim to be spicy be is just sweet and a little spice not spicy at all! The mussels is my favourite and the cream sauce is just so nice.
Up close of my favourite Mussels;the cream is just perfect for spaghetti.
The mains; Flame mixed grill which is a 1 person portion and is like a combo set where we have ribs and sirloin steak this is priced at $42. One word : GOOD!
Flame Bar and grill is located upstairs which is just right beside Movenpick ice cream shop.
4. Pj's Fish & Chips
I had their Battered fish & chips for $12 and also Bluff Oyster (the oyster is seasonal). Nice and cheap! Their price are cheaper than Fish Bone for bluff oyster.(
Din't get to try fish bone because we found another cheaper alternative too.) Le bf had Battered Sausage meal with curry sauce (please don't order the curry sauce is not nice taste like some packaging curry in my
opinion)
Pj's Fish & Chips is just located opposite O'Connell, If you at The Station just cross to the opposite and head up.It is just right beside Kiwi Discovery shop.
5. Patagonia
This is a specialize chocolate shop and a sweet tooth person like me definitely will have this shop on my list! I got to try their hot chocolate is just nice and soothing for the cold weather One large cup cost $5 and is the price is just the same with their other branch in the Airport also they have one branch in Arrowtown.
Posing with my ice cream this is the dessert I had right after dinner at Flames. I order two scoops one in Patagonia dark chocolate & macadamia and the other flavour is Caramel. The dark chocolate is very rich in flavour.
6. Winnies Pizza
Winnies pizza is so good and is a right place to share among friends they have different types of pizza to choose from.
I got mine by mixing Tri Factor (Ultimate Beef pizza) & Pescara (The seafood pizza)
Pescara is very juicy and you can taste the mussels (
sorry I'm obsess with it) and salmon is very fresh (
you feel like swimming in the ocean LOL). Le Bf tri factor is one of their best seller it consist the combination of prime steak cuts and bacon (
very beefy lol). We get to take away we can't finish the Large Pizza and that left over is our Supper and Lunch
sweet!
7. Brazz Restaurant & Bar
Entry; Mussels $18.50 order the mussels again because I'm missing the Flames mussels and flames taste is richer but the Brazz portion is bigger.
Another combo which cost $42 and Brazz pork ribs is really nice but for combo portion flames is larger. Located opposite Pig & Whistle Pub.
8. Alpine Mart
There are few days we bought food from Alpine Mart and we cooked it at our Lodge. You can find great deals in Alpine Mart too. They will have some discounts on roasted chicken or sausages and even rice and more after 7.30pm and some cost only $3-4 which is a great deal.
Besides you can also find a great deal for bluff oysters!
One box of this which only cost $14 is in a dozen! This is the cheapest bluff oyster I can get so far. And is very fresh too!
To prove this is a close up bluff oyster look at the size! It taste very raw and I like it best with white wine.
9. The Fork And Tap Ale House Arrowtown.
This bar and restaurant is located at Arrowtown.
I tried their Blue Cod & fries I must said is the best! The blue cod is fresh and the battered is just right. It also comes with salad. The price is around $25.
10. A Taste of Gibbston Valley
Can't get to go Gibston Valley? Worry not they have cafe and tasting room in Arrowtown and the atmosphere is nice.
Get to tried this three wine at the wine tasting room. 3 wine tasting cost $5 and the staff is very friendly in sharing the wine info to us.
Riesling 2013 is one of my favourite! Is hard to purchase Riesling 2013 and the airport does not have it either and is much more cheaper to buy Gibston Wine in here.
Hope you find this helpful!
